We are a Fundamental Bible Believing Independent Baptist Church. We are a Bible preaching and soul winning church. Our major goal here at Yokota Baptist Church is to glorify God by winning souls to Christ, and building strong Christian families. We are a mission oriented church, supporting over ninety missionaries and several mission organizations world-wide. Our services are translated into English and Japanese. Wow! It's that time of year! Vacation Bible School is back and better than ever. Vacation Bible School (VBS) is a very exciting program for children from kindergarten to the sixth grade. Our church offers VBS ABSOLUTELY FREE of charge; also the program is conducted in English and Japanese. The children will be fed healthy snacks, perform beautiful arts and crafts, play exciting games, receive prizes everyday that they attend, and have lots of fun, all while they are learning about the bible. How does one get saved?

Romans 6:23

If You Died Today . . .If you died today, do you know for sure that you would go to heaven?

The Bible makes it very plain that a person can know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, if they will go to heaven. Many religions and bible versions attempt to confuse people about how to know if they are saved. [saved (born again) - Forgiven of sins through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.] Please read the following bible verses to find out how to go to heaven.

1. You must understand that every person has sinned against God and needs salvation. Romans 3:23 say’s “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God”. What is sin? Please look at the Ten Commandments. Have you kept these? No one has.

2. You must realize you cannot save yourself. Romans 6:23 say’s “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord”.

3. You must believe that Jesus can save you. In John 14:6 Jesus say’s “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man cometh unto the father but by me”.

4. You can be saved right now. You can know for a fact that you have eternal life in heaven RIGHT NOW! Romans 10:9-13 say’s "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved".

If you repent and believe that Jesus is the Son of God, and that he died as payment for your sins, you can pray right now and ask Him to save you. He has promised that if you will ask Him, He WILL save you. If you would like to get saved now and don't know what to say, here is an example on what you might want to say to the God:

Dear God, I believe that Jesus is your son. I believe I have sinned against you and need to be saved. Please forgive me of my sins through the blood of Jesus and save my soul. Thank you Lord for saving me as you have promised you would. Help me to turn from sin and live my life for you. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

Please Contact us and let us know that you have been saved so we can rejoice with you. I would also encourage you to find an Independent Baptist Church in your area to worship at. Tell the Pastor you got saved and would like to learn more about God If you would like more information please contact us, and he will be happy to answer your questions.

The Scriptures

We believe the Old and New Testaments to be verbally inspired by God, inerrant, and that they are of supreme and final authority in faith and life (II Timothy 3:16, 17; II Peter 1:19, 21). We will use the King James translation of the Bible as our primary text in all ministries of this church.

The Godhead

We believe the Godhead eternally exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; that these three are one God, having precisely the same nature, attributes, and perfections (Genesis 1:1,26; Matthew 3:16,17; Matthew 28:19,20; II Corinthians 13:14; Romans 8:9).

The Lord Jesus Christ

We believe in:

1. His eternal existence as God (Hebrews 1:8)
2. His incarnation by means of the virgin birth (Luke 1:35; Isaiah 7:14)
3. His death on the cross as the substitutionary atonement for sin (Romans 3:25; Hebrews 9:14)
4. His literal bodily resurrection from the dead (Luke 24:36-43; Acts 10:40-41)
5. His present ministry of intercession in heaven (Acts 1:9; I John 2:1; Hebrews 3:1,2)
6. His personal bodily return to earth (Acts 1:11; I Thessalonians 4:16; Colossians 2:9; Matthew 26:64)

The Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit, the third Person of the Godhead, convicts men of sin (john 16:8; regenerates, indwells, seals (I Corinthians 3:16; Ephesians 1:13, 14); and sets believers apart unto a holy life; He keeps and empowers our daily life (I Corinthians 2:13). Anyone who does not have the Spirit living in him is not a child of God (Romans 8:9)

Man

We believe:

1. Man was created innocent and pure (Genesis 1:26)
2. Adam fell through the sin of disobedience (Romans 5:19)
3. Thereby all men are corrupted in body, mind and soul (Romans 5:12; Jeremiah 17:9; Ephesians 2:3)
4. Therefore all are in need of redemption

Satan

We believe in the reality and personality of Satan (Job 1:6-9; Job 2:3: Matthew 4:1-11; I Peter 5:8; James 4:7)

Salvation

We believe:

1. That salvation is soley by grace through faith in the blood sacrifice, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ the Son of God (Ephesians 2:8-9)
2. All who receive Him are regenerated by the Holy Spirit and become children of God (Titus 3:5)
3. All who are truly saved are kept forever (John 10:27-30)
4. However, God cannot overlook sin in His children and will chasten and correct in love (Hebrews 12:5-8)

The Church

We Believe:

1. That the local church is composed of regenerated, baptized believers, voluntarily united together for the purpose of worship, edification, fellowship of believers, spiritual growth, and service

2. That it has been commissioned by Christ to propagate the Gospel unto the uttermost parts of the earth 3. That the local church has the absolute right of self-government free from interference of any hierarchy of individuals or organizations, and that the one and only superintendent is Christ, through the Holy Spirit

4. That on all matters of membership, of policy of government, of benevolence, the will of the local church is final (Acts 2:41-47; 4:33-37; 5:1-20; Ephesians 4:11-16)

We believe that Christ gave only two ordinances to the local church to be observed ’til He comes.’

1. The Lord’s Supper - It was left us as an ordinance by the Lord Himself (Matthew 26:26, 27:28; Mark 14:22-24, and others), for a memorial of His death until He comes. It should be taken only by obedient Christians and should not be taken unadvisedly but with the examination of one’s life (I Corinthians 11:23-34)

2. Believer’s Baptism - We believe that we practice baptism by immersion because of the example of our Lord Jesus while He was here on earth (Matthew 3:13) and because of the command given by our Lord to baptize (Matthew 28:19). We believe that the Scriptures clearly teach believers’ baptism only (Acts 8:37)

It should be made clear that there is no saving power in baptism. It is meant as a first step of obedience for those who are already saved, giving a clear picture of the fact that the believer is dead, buried and raised spiritually with Jesus Christ by faith in Him (Romans 6:6)

The Future

We believe in the personal, premillennial return of Jesus Christ. He will come: (a)For His saints together at the rapture (I Thessalonians 4:13-18; Titus 2:13); (b)Back with His saints to set up His kingdom on this earth (Jude 14,15). We believe in the eternal conscious blessedness of the saved and the eternal conscious punishment of the lost (Luke 16:19-31)

Separation

We believe it is our duty to call the attention of believers to the scriptural teaching of separation and that we should abstain from worldly practices and live lives devoted unto the Lord (Romans 12:1,2; II Corinthians 6:14-7:1; I Peter 1:15,16)

Missions

We believe it is each Christian’s privilege and responsibility to be a witness for Christ in life and in word and seek to lead others to a saving knowledge of Christ (Romans 10:14; Matthew 28:19,20)

Pastor's Biography

PASTOR RODNEY J. PARROTT

Rodney J. Parrott was born February 24, 1942 in Columbus, Georgia. At the age of 17 Bro. Parrott enlisted in the U.S. Marines Corps. He served his country from April 1959 to April 1963.

One month after Bro. Parrott was discharged from the Marines he was saved. He soon met Barbara Long who later became Barbara Parrott on February 6, 1964. Three years later, they joined the Peoples Baptist Church in Forest Park, Georgia in 1967. It was there that they found the Will of God for their lives. Bro. Parrott answered the call to preach in 1968. Through the counsel of their Pastor, Talmadge Walker, they enrolled at Tennessee Temple Bible School in 1969 and Graduated in 1973.

Bro. Parrott and his wife were accepted as Missionary Candidates in February 1973 with Baptist International Missions, Inc. based in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Their primary calling was to work with the Spanish-speaking people in Spain. To prepare for this, Bro. and Sister Parrott went to San Jose, Costa Rica and enrolled in the El Instituto De Lengua Espanola. They spent a year in Language study there and then went on to Madrid, Spain to continue their studies in the Spanish Language.

Bro. Parrott had visited several times the Bethel Baptist Church, a Military Work in Rota, Spain. It was through these visits and ministering to the U.S. Armed Forces stationed there that the Lord led Bro. Parrott to take the Church in 1976. They stayed and pastored the Bethel Baptist Church until 1984 when they took their first furlough.

The Parrotts have served the Lord faithfully in the planting of Military Churches throughout Europe. They served in the countries of Spain, Germany and Italy until 2002. They are dedicated to our U.S. Armed Forces stationed throughout the world. They have been instrumental in helping to establish over 12 churches in these countries over the past 35 years of their Missionary Service. From 2002 until now the Parrotts have travelled the world filling the pulpits of many of the Military Pastors needing a short furlough or in most cases an emergency leave of absence. May the 28^th 2008 the Parrotts once again has taken a pastorate in Yokota, Japan. The Yokota Baptist Church will be the seventh church the Parrotts have pastored in the last 35 years.

What is AWANA?
AWANA is a club for kids so that they can learn how to serve God. We play games, sing songs, win prizes and learn about our Saviour Jesus Christ.

When: Fridays from 7 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. three fridays a month.

Where: Yokota Baptist Church (2nd Floor)

Who: Ages 4-12
